For small & growing brands

Systems that work for people.passt.

We help growing retail brands scale, tidy up operations and build the structure behind the shopfront, so the business runs well and the people in it get to do their best work.

01 Who it's for

Sound familiar?

For the brands doing the real work.

You've built something people love. Now the business has outgrown the way it was set up: the spreadsheets, the workarounds, the one person who knows how everything fits together.

passt. works with founders and small teams in retail and ecommerce who want to grow without losing what makes them good. We come in, understand how you actually operate, and build the systems and structure that let you scale calmly.

  • Stock is in three places and none of them agree.
  • Your Shopify or Lightspeed setup works, but nobody trusts the reports.
  • Fulfilment, rosters and bookkeeping all live in different tools that don't talk.
  • Every new hire learns the business by asking you.
  • You know the numbers matter, but you don't have time to sit with them.
  • You want to grow, and you want it to feel sustainable.

Sascha Schlimbach, Founder

Hi, I'm Sascha.I'm a German-born retail and ecommerce consultant in Melbourne, and I design systems that work.

I've spent more than 25 years in retail and ecommerce: on the shop floor, in operations, finance and sales, and leading teams. Most recently that has meant running operations for a locally made fashion brand, covering Shopify, inventory, customer experience and fulfilment. Alongside that, I help makers and small brands put structure in place without losing what makes them theirs.

Outside client work I make furniture and teach woodworking at a community workshop in Melbourne. The best structure is the one you barely notice, because it holds.

I work in English and German, and I'll tell you what I think. If you want things done properly, let's talk.

  • 25+years in retail, ecommerce
    & operations
  • 5disciplines: finance, operations,
    sales, CX & leadership
  • 2markets, two languages
    Australia & Germany
  • 1aim: systems that serve people,
    not the other way around

03 What we do

Four areas, one aim

Clear services. Real outcomes.

Every engagement is shaped around your business, but the work tends to fall into four areas. Start with one, or bring us in across all of them.

  1. 01 / 04

    Retail & ecommerce strategy

Where the business is heading, what to sell, where and how — and what has to be true operationally to get there. Grounded in your numbers, not a template.

    • Commercial review & growth roadmap
    • Channel strategy: online, in-store, wholesale, B2B
    • Range, pricing & margin planning
    • Cross-border set-up (AU ↔ EU)
  2. 02 / 04

    Operations & systems

The engine room. Inventory, fulfilment, reporting and the day-to-day processes that decide whether growth feels exciting or exhausting.

    • Inventory & stock control across channels
    • Fulfilment, shipping & returns workflows
    • Reporting that people actually read
    • Process mapping & documentation
  3. 03 / 04

    Tools & integrations

Making your stack work as one system. Set-up, clean-up and connecting the tools you already pay for — without adding more than you need.

    • Shopify & Lightspeed set-up and optimisation
    • Notion workspaces & Slack workflows
    • Deputy rostering and Xero finance flows
    • Email & lifecycle automation (Klaviyo)
  4. 04 / 04

    Team, customer experience & leadership

Systems only hold when people are set up to use them. We help you structure roles, onboarding and service standards so the team can run things without you in every decision.

    • Team structure, roles & onboarding
    • Customer experience & service standards
    • Leadership support for founders & managers
    • Ongoing advisory as you grow

The stack we work in

  • Shopify
  • Lightspeed
  • Notion
  • Slack
  • Deputy
  • Xero
  • Klaviyo
  • Starshipit

04 How we work

Understand · Build · Embed

The right structure shouldn't feel like structure.

That idea comes from the workshop. Force a joint and it weakens; cut it to fit and it holds on its own. We apply the same thinking to operations.

  1. 01

    Understand

We start by listening: how the business actually runs, where the friction is, what the numbers say and where you want to be in a year.

  2. 02

    Build

We design the process, set up the tools and write it down. Enough structure to hold, and no more.

  3. 03

    Embed

We train the team, stay close through the first weeks and adjust what needs it. It has to work when we're not in the room.

What we hold ourselves to

Three values. No fine print.

Reliability. We do what we say, when we said we would: clear scope, honest timelines and no surprises. Quality. Done properly, or not at all. We take the time to understand the grain of your business before we cut anything. Consideration. For the people using the system, your team, your customers and you. Good systems meet people where they are.

05 Kind words

From people we've worked with

“Sascha sorted out the parts of the business we never had time for. Shopify, stock, orders going out, customers getting answered. It all just runs better now, and we can get on with making clothes.”

Ayman Amin, Founder, Australian Stitch

“During Sascha's time with us the business more than doubled its revenue. He brought structure to the store, got the team working with the new systems, and kept customers at the centre of it all.”

Warren Cay, Owner, bikeNOW

07 Let's talk

Usually replies within one business day

Tell me what's not working.

Or what you'd like to build next. A short note is plenty — I'll come back with a few thoughts and, if it makes sense, a time to talk. No pitch, no pressure.
